AWARDS SCHEME

The Society makes awards to schemes that are considered to improve the local built and natural environment or local heritage and we very much welcome and encourage nominations from the public under the relevant categories. The scheme is competitive and winners are awarded a certificate and plaque.

Entries are judged by the Civic Society and up to three awards are made.

The categories are:
  • Building projects completed in the last five years that are of architectural merit or character making a significant contribution to the area.
  • Schemes of renovation or improvement in the existing built environment.
  • Projects or developments that enhance or protect the natural environment.
  • Schemes that lead to a better understanding of the local historical heritage.
  • Schemes or projects that raise public awareness and appreciation of the local historical heritage.
  • Any other scheme that leads to an improvement in either the built, natural or social environment.
  • Nominations must be written and made under one or more of the above categories.
Further details on the scheme can be obtained from Gordon Palliser tel 01492 516572.  You may submit your nomination via our email facility but stating clearly under which of the above categories you are making your nomination.
